First car on the list is a 1948 Buick Sedanette, or fastback. This postwar fat fender has always been a favorite of mine, the sweeping lines would be perfect for a mild custom. All you would need to do is get some nice wheels, shave it, and drop it to a nice stance and you have the perfect cruiser. I have always been partial to the late forties fat fendered fastbacks, but something about the buick makes it stand out from the Chevys, Caddies and all the other cars of the era. You may be familiar with the 1949 Buick convertible from the movie Rain Man.
